Doctorate of Nursing degree.  Variety of clinical experiences: hospital, office, clinic, rural and urban settings with acute, chronic and well patient knowledge.  I am adaptable, eager to learn and a strong communicator. Fluent in Spanish. ACLS, PALS and FNP certified.

Spring, 2005 University Wellness Center. Marjean Allen APRN-C, FNP, Director of Health Services, Cedar, Utah
Spent 2 weeks in rural Utah. Worked with University students and staff. Preformed: C&S screens, PAP smears, P.E.’s and histories. Independently diagnosed: Bells Palsy, migraines, rashes, infections, psychological issues, sprains, mono, strep throat and other common illness.

Spring, 2005 Spring Creek Family Practice, Cynthia Campbell FNP-C, Heber, UT
Oriented with preceptor to assist with the large percentage of Spanish speaking patients in the practice. I translated for, and eventually saw all Latino patients during my orientation. Preformed: suture/closures, lesion excise/biopsy and cryo-therapy.

Assisted in this practice where over 60% of the patient population spoke only Spanish. Translated. Cared for well and sick patients. Covered night/weekend call for Dr. Kluthe during her summer vacation.

    Full Time, averaging 70-90 patients a week.  I Work clinic as well as urgent care shifts. Proficient in women’s, men’s and children’s well care exams, IUD placement, acute and urgent care situations, fracture reduction, laceration repair and other clinic duties. I am gaining experience in delegation of duties and responsibilities.  I have increased my organizational and triage skills. I have learned to work with supervising physicians as well as train new employees and nurse practitioners.

  • 7/2005 - 1/2006, Plastic & Hand Surgical Associates, South Portland, Maine
    Circulated full time plastic and hand cases.  Cases include breast reductions, breast augmentations, tissue expander placements, facelifts, laser resurfacing, liposuction, and a variety of hand surgeries.  Coordinated and supervised patient care and provided patient pre and post-op education.  Oriented and trained new staff to OR.

  • 10/2002 - 6/2005, Intermountain Surgery Center, Salt Lake City, Utah
    Efficiently circulated all areas of same day surgery including: ENT, plastics, eye, urology, general, and orthopedic cases. Cases also included local and nurse monitored sedation cases.   Scrubbed various general surgery and cataract extraction cases.

    Temporary 13-week assignment as a traveling RN with American Mobile.  Worked in both same day surgery as well as trauma cases in the main OR.  Familiar with computerized charting and billing.  Worked closely with surgery and anesthesia residents and interns.  Was offered F/T position after temporary assignment.

    Circulated trauma, orthopaedic, ORIF, total hip/knee, neuro/spine, urology, general, laproscopic, chronic and acute care cases.  Circulated in open-heart surgery and had exposure to CABG, valve replacement, balloon pump placement, on and off pump cases.  Experience operating cell saver.
